Team of Teams

All VFS teams, who create and contribute to building products for VA.gov, need to be aware of the weekly Team of Teams (ToT) meetings. ToT meetings provide announcements from Platform and general awareness across all VA.gov teams needed to support each other, collaborate, learn, and apply to successful initiatives.

What is ToT

ToT is a 50-minute weekly meeting in which a representative from each team, building on or in support of VA.gov, gives a quick update on their team’s work. The goal is for teams to have the general awareness needed to support each other, collaborate, or draw learnings to apply to their work – ultimately nurturing the creation of excellent Veteran-facing services.

When is ToT

ToT meetings are held every Tuesday at 12 PM ET.

Who attends ToT

It is up to the VFS team to choose representatives to attend the ToT meeting. Usually, the Product Manager or Delivery Manager, who, along with their teams, create and contribute to building products for VA.gov, attend Team of Team meetings.

Expectations for presenters

Teams participating in Team of Teams are responsible for creating and sharing their slide and presenting in the meeting:

1. Creating and sharing your slides

   1. Contact Julia Badillo and Erica Robbins via the #team-of-teams-slide-collection channel to receive ToT Agenda and Protocol for reference.

   2. Shared updates from attendees will include:

      1. Mission

      2. Updates

      3. Additional Communications and Plans

      4. Dependencies & Blockers

      5. Q&A

   3. Post your team’s slide in the #team-of-teams-slide-collection Slack channel by 10 AM ET each Tuesday.

      1. Late submissions may not make it into the deck for the live presentation.

2. Presenting your slide

   1. Give a one-minute update on your team’s work.

   2. Make note of applicable updates from other teams, and share them with your team for awareness, discussion, and follow-up.
